Green Onyx 8 Day Clock
Rare green onyx ‘boule’ mantel clock from Zenith, LeLocle, Switzerland, was made circa 1935, is made of Algerian onyx, bezel-set and wound, eight-day going desk clock with power reserve indicator. The clock measures overall 7″ x 7″ x 5″ high and the inset timepiece itself is 3″ in diameter, wound by turning the bezel in one direction and time-set by pulling and turning the bezel in the opposite direction.
The bowed square turned base has a semi-circular socket to fit the free-moving ball case. The matte gilt dial features painted black Arabic hour numbers, black arrow hands, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, and aperture for power reserve indication. The movement is 65 mm, with going barrel, 11 jewels, warrantied by Aaron Faber for 12 months.
