Art Smith: Rutilated Quartz Choker

Art Smith (1917-1982) is a renowned Modernist jeweler and artist whose Greenwich Village store and studio was a beacon of modern design and hip culture from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. He made many works, like this crossover necklace, in brass, forged from wire, and in this case with an oval rutilated quartz drop. The open collar form sits firmly when worn, fits most sizes, the pendant measures 2-3/4″ x 1″.
