Art Deco Gruen Evening Watch

A remarkable find! Early women’s Art Deco Gruen evening wristwatch, circa 1930, features a 14mm x 25mm hinged platinum case with decorative engraving, 18K white gold mesh bracelet with diamond-set clasp, inlay onyx and diamond bezel and extended lugs and green jade circle links. In Betteridge box, apparently from the period, citing Betteridge history “In the early twentieth century, Betteridge flourished, opening fine jewelry stores on two of the most important corners of New York City; Fifth avenue & 45th Street and Wall Street & Broadway. Betteridge produced some of the preeminent Art Deco designs of the period, which still turn up in fine jewelry collections.” The 17 jewel movement is warrantied by Aaron Faber for 2 years.
