Jennifer Trask: CU Necklace

Jennifer Trask’s CU necklace — CU as in the scientific symbol for copper– is a stunningly colorful combination of raw powdered copper, the copper hue natural and the brilliant blue hue, copper oxidized, set in sterling silver compartments sealed with glass and glass reticles — rifle sights– is one of the artist’s earliest works in the Wunderkammer collection, dating 1998. The links range in diameter from 1-1/8″ to 1/4″ , 18″ in length.

Trask’s fascination with natural elements and her artist’s vision to explore these elements through their color compositions are integral to her work.
